Unwound

Bored by the humdrum

in my workplace

I unwind my mind

retreat for a moment

from suffocating duties

and slip into a wandering mode

Whirling with the wind

spontaneously

my thoughts race down

a liberated path

With my assumed authority

I comfortably trespass

into forbidden territories

prying into secret worlds

indulging in fantasy

and adventurous daydreams

that now come so naturally

And then suddenly

a loud warning

from the boss

snaps me back

to a boring reality
